Nelson Rands

Born 1932 in Yorkshire. Went to Batley School of Art, then Leeds School of Art to do his teaching diploma. He was an art teacher at Comberton Village College and then had a part-time post as Assistant Art Adviser for Cambridgeshire. His office was just above St Peter's Church (now a tandoori restaurant), 100 metres from Kettle's Yard. Nelson worked with Jim Ede to develop children's art exhibitions at Kettle's Yard. In his interview, he describes Kettle's Yard in the early 1970s and helping artist Bryan Pearce when he visited Cambridge in 1966. At time of interview Nelson was living in Cambridge.
