Christine Fox

Born 1922. Had visited Kettle's Yard when she opened and ran a nursery in Cambridge. She later studied Sculpture at Corsham, Bath Academy of Art from 1956 to 1959 and then taught at the Ruskin School of Art, Cambridge from 1961 to 1988, taking students to Kettle's Yard. Jim Ede lent her the Constantin Brancusi sculpture, Prometheus, which she took home wrapped in newspaper in the basket of her bicycle. Exhibited at Kettle's Yard with the Cambridge Society of Painters and Sculptors and in 1978 with two other women sculptors - 'Three Women Sculptors'. At the time of interview Christine was regularly visiting Kettle's Yard for both exhibitions and the music concerts.
